About
Us
The Process Excellence Council is
a network of professionals interested in business process
innovation and improvement. It was initially formed to focus on the
Health Care industry because of the substantial opportunity
that exists to improve operations, reduce costs, and improve patient
safety and care.
Council
members consist of executives and practitioners with an
interest in learning, sharing knowledge, networking with peers,
and discussing the challenges and opportunities of process
excellence. Council members have broad industry background
to promote learning and best practices across industries.
Why
process excellence?
Business
process excellence can enable organizations to deliver superior
value to customers and operate profitable and sustainable
enterprises. The fundamental purpose of any organization
is to add value, whether it is to a patient or to a
commercial customer.
Value
is best delivered when the processes that make up the activities
of an organization are structured to perform effectively and
efficiently, and are aligned with the mission and strategic
objectives of the organization. High performance
organizations use information technology to their advantage, and
are adept at identifying and eliminating non-value added
processes.
For
some organizations, process excellence has been achieved through
dramatic breakthroughs and organizational transformation.
For others by incremental and continuous improvement of the
existing system. Regardless of the strategy pursued, the goal is
the same, to improve the value delivered by the organization and
to improve the measures of productivity and profitability.
The
members of the Process Excellence Council share their
knowledge and experiences with their peers in order to help each
other develop capabilities, learn, and address the challenges
and opportunities of making dramatic and lasting improvements in
organizational performance.
